Top US cyclists at Tour of California bike race

A who's who of top US pro cyclists will compete in this month's Amgen Tour of California bike race. While race organizers emailed out a list of six “elite Americans” who might be a factor in race, it by no means covered all the high-profile racers who are expected to compete.
Leading that list of top US riders bicycling in the February event is George Hincapie (Discovery Channel). Lance Armstrong's long-time teammate on Postal and Discovery, Hincapie (left) achieved a stage win at last year's Tour de France.

Cyclist Major Taylor memorialized in Chicago bike trail

Chicago remembers world renown cyclist Major Taylor in a rail-to-trails bike route that is scheduled to open a new segment this summer.

Cross-country bicycle race still RAAM tough

Changes are afoot at that endurance cycling event gone mondo called the Race Across America.

The Race to Replace

The Race to Replace is the name of an Internet and TV campaign that the Discovery Channel is launching to hype up the question of Lance Armstrong's replacement as leader of the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team.

Bike racing fans considering seeing the 2007 Tour de France should put the UK on their itinerary.

Tour of California bike race maps released

At long last, the Amgen Tour of California released the detailed route maps of its inaugural bike race on Tuesday.

Now cyclists can check out the 600-some miles of cycling routes on their bikes, and spectators can figure out the best vantage points for the eight-day race from Feb. 19-26.
