What makes the story so inspirational is how Alison, and her husband, Tim, [that's them at left] have faced the hardships together. What makes it so moving is that Tim was the physician on the med-evac helicopter called in to transport from one hospital to another the unidentified bike crash victim, who he soon discovered to be his wife. …

Bicyclists who plan to take off across Iowa and Kansas this summer now know where they'll be staying as the routes for those across-state bicycle rides were announced on Saturday.
The announcement is especially huge for the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa (RAGBRAI) because businesses and charities in the small towns stand to make a million or more dollars off the 10,000 cyclists and other visitors who spend the night.
The host cities were revealed at an announcement party in Des Moines Saturday night. The 39th annual RAGBRAI will roll out for 454 miles from July 24-30 on a west to east route through the following host cities:…

A woman thrown from her bicycle when her front tire lodged in a large crack in a poorly maintained road has been offered a $48,500 settlement in Texas.
Commissioners in Travis County, the former home of Lance Armstrong, voted to make the offer to bicyclist Alejandra Cornelius, 31, who suffered serious dental injuries when she did a header over the handlebars.
When considered with some other cases here in the Pacific Northwest, it proves that the old saying, “You can't sue city hall,” is not always true ….

Bicyclists are usually the victims in stories involving dogs, as they're either getting chased or bitten by loose canines.
Here's a story about a bicyclist who helped rescue a lost dog, which is why Bill Myers is considered a hero among some people around Carlisle, Pennsylvania, these days.
The part-German shepherd, named Daisy Mae (at left), had escaped into the cold farm country from a vehicle a week earlier. She was being transported from her home in West Virginia to a rescue shelter in New Jersey after her owners had to move and could no longer care for her …

A reward will be offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the motorist who appeared to intentionally hit one of the bicyclists in the 2010 Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge Gran Fondo last fall.
The Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and VeloStreet, the non-profit owner of the bike ride, are launching a fund-drive to raise $10,000 for the reward. The bike coalition says:
“The community must not tolerate those who harass and injure cyclists. Let's raise $10,000 to make sure this driver is held accountable.”
Anyone can donate to the reward at the Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition website ….
