Vancouver councillor Peter Ladner is a cycling enthusiast, and hopes the construction of bike lanes will grow into a trend in Vancouver.

The new lanes mean there will be a …

Cycling cross-country on historic roads

Pat Clements is finding his own bicycle route across country. Not content to stick to the main bicycling byways, Clements is seeking out the routes that tell the story of the westward expansion of the nation. Currently on leave from a teaching job in New Jersey, Clements was interviewed recently in Eastern Kentucky.

Bicycle education, not legislation, on Washington island

We're free to ride our bicycles on Mercer Island as we always have, as long as it's within the current laws.
The City Council has decided not to impose new restrictions on cyclists riding across the island or around its scenic loop road that overlooks Lake Washington.
Several options were on the …

Two cyclists near the end of a long road

For sheer drama off the bike, I don't think there's ever been a day like this in American cycling.

First, Lance Armstrong, 33, left, one of the most recognizable athletes in the world, ends weeks of speculation and announces that he will retire at the end of the 2005 Tour de France.

Just a couple of hours later, an anti-doping …
