Quality Bicycle Products of Bloomington, Minnesota, is recalling 18,000 threadless bicycle stems under the brand name Dimension Bicycle Road and Mountain Threadless Handlebar Stems.
The stems, manufactured in Taiwan and China, can crack or break, according to a press release from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

If Lance Armstrong is going to win a record-enhancing seventh Tour de France this year, he'll have to do it without Discovery Channel Pro Cycling teammate Viatcheslav Ekimov — a competitor and compatriot for many years.
The Russian bicycle racer fell during a training ride with Armstrong over the weekend. He broke his collarbone and seriously injured his spine; doctors told him he wouldn't be well enough to ride in time for the Tour de France in July. …

(Updated May 4) How much longer will these mass arrests during critical mass in New York City go on? Is there so little crime in the Big Apple that the city can deploy a cadre of police to stop some people from riding their bikes and inconveniencing some motorists?
New York's finest swooped in and arrested up to 34 bicycle riders during last Friday's critical mass ride, including a woman who had been walking her bike on the sidewalk.
