Spinning yarns on wheels; the Bicycle Film Festival

My idea of a bicycle movie has always been “Breaking Away”: town kid grows up and beats college kids at their own race — the Little Indy 500.

Crash, dispute at Giro d' Italia finish line

A tight sprint finish, a crash, a disqualification … all in a day's work at the Giro d' Italia bicycle race.

Wednesday's stage covered a flat 136 miles between Giffoni Valle Piana and Frosinone. The peloton suffered a couple of crashes out on the course, but it was the finish that created the controversy.

Time for bicycle tourists to thank the Trail Angels

Would you like to show your appreciation to someone who helped you on a bicycle tour?

Can you think of anyone who:
Took you in on a stormy night;
Let you camp in their back yard;
Gave you and your busted bike a lift into town;
Basically saved your butt on your last bicycle tour?

The Adventure Cycling Association is …

Italian bicycle racers rule at Giro d' Italia

The Americans did well at the Tour of Georgia bicycle race, so it stands to reason the Italians would prosper at the Giro d' Italia this week.

Danilo Di Luca (Liquigas-Bianchi) pulled a sprint win from defending Giro champion Damiano Cunego (Lampre-Cafitta) in Tuesday's stage.

The finish in the 130-mile stage along the western coast of Italy between Diamante and …

McEwen wins Monday stage and leads Giro d' Italia

Sprinters rule again at the Giro d'Italia bicycle race on Monday as Aussie Robbie McEwen wins the stage and takes the pink jersey for the overall lead.

Alessandro Petacchi, whose Fassa Bortolo team has tried to set up the peloton for him in last mile or so the past two days, is boxed out at the finish and comes in fourth.

The second stage …

Bettini hitches a ride to win in Giro d' Italia stage

It was a sprinters' finish in the Giro d' Italia on Sunday at the end of the 129-mile bicycle race between Reggio Calabria (at the toe of the boot) to Tropea.

According to the live call from CyclingNews, the Fassa Bortolo team tried to propel its sprinter, Alessandro Petacchi, to the finish line. But rival sprinters Paolo Bettini and Robbie …
