Bike tour of pre-Civil War border wars

More than 200 bike riders begin pedaling through Bleeding Kansas today, reliving the border skirmishes that led up to the Civil War.

Tragedy on RAAM

(Updated June 25 and 26)Bob Breedlove, a 53-year-old RAAM participant from Iowa, was killed Thursday when his bicycle veered into the path of a pickup truck about 28 miles west of Trinidad, Colo.
It was Breedlove's fifth RAAM. At the time of his death, he was leading the over-50 division and riding at 12th place overall.

Race Across America underway

The Massive Sleep Deprivation on Two Wheels Race, also known as the Race Across America (RAAM), got underway Sunday.

After four days (updated 2 p.m. ET Thursday, June 23), mostly in the saddle, defending RAAM champion Jure Robic leads the 25 solo men in the race, followed closely by Mike Trevino just four minutes behind.
