American Classic recalls road and mountain bike wheels

American Classic Bicycle Components is recalling about 2,850 rear wheels for road and mountain bikes.
Although no accidents or injuries have yet been reported, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that the hubs can fail to engage properly, creating no resistance when pedaling and causing the cyclist to lose balance.

Three days, three mountain passes in Courage Classic

The Courage Classic winds up on Monday, meaning there is still a Cascade pass — namely the 4,061-foot elevation Stevens Pass — to climb for 425 bicycle riders.

85,000 miles on the 34.5-mile Virginia Creeper bike trail

If all went well, and I'm sure it did, Lawrence Dye (left) chalked up career mile No. 100,000 this weekend.
