How many bike rides are you going to get in during the next 50 days?
Triathlete Max McManus, right, is banking on 50 bike rides, averaging 150 miles a day.
That frenetic pace will enable him to visit all 50 states during that period. What's more, he'll arrive in New York City on Sept. 11 to deliver funds he has raised on the road for survivors and families of the the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.

The city of Bellevue is hooking up with local bike and hike advocacy groups for a bicycle ride on Tuesday to shed light onto how to make the city's busiest bicycle corridor more bike-friendly.
The city is studying future land use and transportation changes in the so-called Eastgate Corridor that runs roughly east-west between Factoria Boulevard and Lakemont Boulevard interchange.
Participants can learn more about the city's plans for the Mountains to Sound Greenway Corridor and provide input on how to make it safer in light of ongoing commercial and employment growth in the area. The upcoming bike ride….

Mark Cavendish rocketed to the front of the peloton on Champs-Élysées in Paris to win his fifth stage of the 2011 Tour de France on Sunday.
Somewhere behind him, Cadel Evans was mobbed by his teammates as he crossed the finish line to become the first Australian ever to win the Tour.
He'd been protected throughout the 95km (58.9 mile) stage by his BMC Racing teammates to ensure he retained the yellow jersey after winning it in the individual time trial on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cavendish became the first Briton to win the green points jersey at the Tour. His Paris win marked his 5th in this Tour and 20th in his career. ….

Cadel Evans finally achieved success in his seven-year battle to win the Tour de France on Saturday as his main rivals fell off his pace in the individual time trial in Grenoble.

An as-yet unidentified bicyclist was struck from behind and killed by an 18-year-old driving a pickup truck in Kirkland on Friday afternoon.
The crash happened at 3:45 p.m. as the bicyclist was heading north on the 8600 block of Juanita Drive, an arterial road through the area and a popular route for cyclists on the Lake Washington Loop.
