Here's an artist's rendering of the bicycle used in the Bixi self-service bicycle system in Montreal. While a beta program was launched in September, the program will go full throttle in the spring with 2,400 bicycles.
The bikes weigh 20 kg, boast three gears and are made from recyclable aluminum. Cables and chains are enclosed and front and rear lights are powered by a dynamo.
