Mavic bicycle wheels are getting a new owner. Germany-based adidas-Salomon AG is selling its Salomon business segment (including Mavic) to Finland's Amer Sports. The deal was announced today.
Mavic has been around a long time. It traces its roots back to 1889 with a nickel-plating operation in Lyon, France, and soon thereafter to a company that made parts for velocipedes. Here's the Mavic company history.
