Is upwards of 15 hours of Tour de France coverage a day too much?

If you think it is, then you probably won't care to check out the Versus cable network's 2008 Tour de France TV schedule.

Running Saturday July 5 through Sunday July 27, the schedule features live coverage in the morning, followed by three replays throughout the afternoon, then three hours of primetime coverage in the evenings, followed by another replay in the wee morning hours.

That's followed by a couple of hours of cage-fighting, bull-riding or bass fishing, then it's back to the Tour.

Here's the basic daily schedule, although there changes during the week, with fewer replays on the weekends:

Live coverage — 7:30 or 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. EST
Replay — Noon to 2 p.m. (EST)
Replay — 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. (EST)
Replay — 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. (EST)
Expanded primetime coverage — 8 to 11 p.m.
Replay — Midnight to 3 a.m.

The daily Versus Tour de France schedule is posted at the website.

Versus has signed a contract to broadcast the Tour de France in the US and Canada through 2013.
