It looks like Spanish cyclist Alejandro Valverde is back in good form after winning this year's Dauphiné Libéré, which makes him a favorite at this year's Tour de France.

Last year's No. 2 Tour de France finisher Cadel Evans finished in second, followed by US's Levi Leipheimer in third.

Valverde and Evans, the Australian team leader of Silence-Lotto, are headed for a match-up in the Tour de France. Not Leipheimer. He races for Astana which has been banned from the Tour this year.

Another US cyclist, George Hincapie, finished in 31st. Hincapie won Stage 2 and Leipheimer won the prologue in this year's Dauphiné Libéré.

The week-long race is considered a tune-up for the Tour de France. The early stages are flat spring stages, followed by major climbs in the mountains.
