The 4th annual Cycle Zydeco bicycle tour is spinning through Louisiana's Cajun Country this weekend.
The Daily World reports 350 bicycle riders showed up for the 200-mile fully supported tour that starts in Lafayette and ends in Grand Coteau on Sunday. The ride isn't just for Cajuns, as only 25 Louisiana residents are riding; the rest come from 38 other states and Canada, say ride organizers.
While mainly cycling through St. Landry Parish, the bike riders are entertained by Cajun music at rest stops and evening gatherings and fueled by Creole cuisine.
Of course it's too late to sign up for Cycle Zydeco, but I have linked other week-long group bicycle tours at State Bicycle Tours. In all, 57 rides are listed for 39 states.
