Tour de France quote: Michael Rogers

“One of the problems is that a lot of the spectators now have digital cameras and they’re all leaning out on the road to get a shot. They don’t realize how fast we’re riding and before we know it, we are upon them.”

Australian Michael Rogers of the T-Mobile team talking about all the accidents in Stage 3. It doesn't paint a pretty picture, although he doesn't describe any accidents directly attributable to roadside shutterbugs. Just one of the new hazards of the job, I guess. Rogers started Wednesday morning in 2nd place overall, one second behind Belgium's Tom Boonen.
