Maybe not. But a bike ride along the path adjacent to Lake Michigan takes cyclists past many of the city's popular tourist sites.
An Associated Press writer recommends renting a bicycle from one of several shops in the city and heading over to the Lake Michigan trails.
John and Polly Mayberry also feature the 18-mile Lake Michigan bike path on their Great Bicycle Trails website.
First you'll need a map. Here's an interactive online Chicago bike map published by mayor's office.
The path passes the Navy Pier, Chicago Yacht Club with a spectacular view of the the Chicago skyline. There's also Grant Park and Chicago's museum area, which includes the Shedd Aquariuim, Adler Planetarium and Field Museum.
There's also Soldier Field along the route. Other side routes take cyclists to Chinatown.
