It seems that rail-trails are among the best places to enjoy the fall color from a bicycle.
Maybe it’s because so many are bordered by trees. Even in suburban areas, the trails are often buffered by trees that have sprouted up along the old railroad rights of way.
Or maybe it’s because there’s no threat for traffic. A bicycle rider can look around and enjoy the scenery without having to worry about staying on the safe side of the white fog line painted at the side of the road.
