If you're anywhere close to Seattle this weekend, I'd recommend the Cascade Bicycle Club's Seattle International Bike Expo on Saturday and Sunday.
I've been to this for the past couple of years, and it's definitely worth checking out. It's a celebration of everything bicycle — riding, touring, apparel, parts, gadgets, recumbents, foldables — you name it. More than 150 exhibits in all, some of whom are mentioned here.
Irish cycling legend Sean Kelly, renown for wearing the green jersey during many Tours de France, will be at the expo, as will Davis Phinney, still the US's pro cyclist with the most wins. David Herlihy, author of “Bicycle,” also will be on hand, as will other famous guests.
They'll all be at the Expo Gala from 7:30 to 10:30 Saturday night. There's also a youth zone both days, antique bicycle show, photo contest and other features over the weekend.
Once again it's housed at Hangar 27 at Warren G. Magnuson Park on Sand Point Road in Seattle.
