Watching in slack-jawed amazement at the stunts these trials legends can perform on a road bike, I actually forget that Martyn Ashton, Danny MacAskill and Chris Akrigg are human like the rest of us.
A lot of trial and error — and crashes — go into these tricks. But they climb right back on their bikes and try it again.
The Road Bike Party 2 already has more than 8 million views on YouTube in about two weeks, so many of you may have seen it already.
If you haven’t seen it yet, or you logged out before the final credits, I recommend watching the action at the very end of the film during the credits. You’ll see that these trials experts often need more than one painful take to complete what appears to be a flawless stunt.
In fact, they sometimes go at it time and again before they finally land it right.
Unfortunately, 39-year-old Ashton suffered severe damage to his back in a 10-foot fall from a high bar during a mountain bike trials display at a motorcycle race in September. He was paralyzed from the waist down and couldn’t finish the film. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for him.
