Armstrong appears on Discovery's Survivors Week; also SNL

Lance Armstrong tells his story of surviving cancer in October on the Discovery Health Channel.

Almost totally unrelated, he'll host NBC's Saturday Night Live on Oct. 29. Musical guest is Sheryl Crow.

Armstrong was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 1997 and survived to win 7 straight Tour de France championships. He's known worldwide for his advocacy for cancer research and survivors.

“Lance Armstrong: Stories of Survival, Survivors Week” begins at 8 p.m. Sunday, October 9, with an interview with Armstrong and what it means to survive cancer. Specials at 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday deal with other people who have survived medical challenges.

The Discovery Health Channel is a network of the Discovery Communications Inc. Armstrong leads the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team.
