World Wide Cycle Supply is recalling 25,000 Harley-Davidson 16-inch BMX bicycles that had been sold exclusively through retailer Toys “R” Us.

The Islandia, New York, company has received 15 reports of fork welds breaking on the bicycles. Six riders suffered cuts and bruises to their faces and hands and several lost teeth due to the problem, according to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The bicycles were manufactured in China and sold in the US through Toys “R” Us from July 2002 to July 2005. World Wide Cycle Supply had a licensing arrangement to use the Harley name,  according to CPSC.

The agency recommends consumers stop riding the bicycles and return them to Toys “R” Us for a store credit in the amount of the purchase price.

Contact information and serial numbers of affected bicycles is available at the Consumer Product Safety Commission press release.
