Bike MS is hooking up with bike-maker Raleigh in a partnership to provide services for participants of its charity bike rides in 2012.

More than 100,000 folks ride their bicycles in some 100 Bike MS events annually to raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Beginning next year, Raleigh USA will support Bike MS in several ways, such as providing education programs, a cause-marketing program for bike purchases, and participation in rides by local dealer teams.

Also, Raleigh has agreed to support Bike MS corporate teams by providing bike rentals, training, bike fittings and more.

“Our partnership with Raleigh will provide new resources and support to Bike MS participants; engage new cyclists; expand fundraising; and cultivate relationships to grow the Bike MS network,” said Graham McReynold, executive VP for Marketing and Development at the National MS Society.

The focus of the 120-year-old bike manufacturing company is on cause riders, commuters and family, says Chris Speyer, VP for product development and marketing at Raleigh. “We know that there is huge opportunity through our partnership with Bike MS for us to inspire riders to engage in a lifelong love of cycling and a commitment to doing good.”

In the Pacific Northwest, there are Bike MS rides based in Mt. Vernon, Washington; Gresham, Oregon and Mullan and McCall, Idaho. California has three.
