Nashbar is recalling 300 tandem trailers because the misassembled trailer hitches can become unstable when making turns.
The Canfield, Ohio-based mail order and web retailer marketed the Nashbar Lil' Shadow Tandem Trailers (click on picture), which were made for Nashbar in Taiwan.
The black, single-wheel bicycle trailer attaches to the seatpost of an adult-sized bicycle. The affected bicycle trailers have the serial numbers PC4F001 through PC4F300. They were sold through catalogs or off the website for about $150 from Oct. 27, 2004 to May 10, 2005.
Although no injuries have been reported, Nashbar and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission says people should stop using the trailers immediately and contact Nashbar for a full refund and $20 gift certificate toward another purchase.
Consumers can call Nashbar toll-free at (877) 688-8600 between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit the firm’s Web site at www.nashbar.com . Consumers also can contact the firm by e-mail at custserv@nashbar.com
