Big Cat Human Powered Vehicles recalled about 170 Catbike Musashi recumbents after reports of frame failure.
The Winter Park, Florida-based company, in conjunction with the Consumer Product Safety Commission, is recalling the bicycles after learning the frame can crack. No injuries have been reported.
The 2010 model year recumbents comprise the recall. They were sold for $2,350 from nationwide retailers throughout 2010. The company urges owners to stop riding the bicycles immediately and contact them for a free replacement frame.
According to the press release:
The bicycles were sold in the following colors: black, white, silver, yellow, orange, red, lime green, pink, blue, candy purple, candy red, candy green, candy blue and sparkle orange. “Musashi” is printed on the frame and “Catbike” is printed on the seat, frame and headrest. Serial numbers CBM0002 to CBM0170 are included in this recall. The serial number can be found underneath the main frame where the seat bottom is located (see arrow in photo).
