Biking Across Kansas welcomed in Garnett

Other than pie or ice cream, nothing draws cyclists like a display of antique bicycles.
Some of the Biking Across Kansas cadre checked over this display put together by a local restorer when Garnett rolled out the red carpet for us on Friday.
Unfortunately, the evening's festivities in the historic courthouse square were cut short by threatening lightning and thunder.
Back at the local high school, the campers were urged to move inside to avoid the severe weather.
The day's ride covered 49 miles of lush Flint Hills prairie from Burlington to Garnett.
On Saturday, the remaining cyclists will finish up at the Missouri border.
