Is it art or the byproduct of a training ride on a stationary bicycle?

The Australian artist created the pedal-powered drawing machine in Melbourne as part of his mission to examine the relationship between man and machine.
In this case, the bicycle is outfitted with pulleys, belts and wheels to enable the operator to create crayon drawings on a wall. If the person works up a sweat while creating, then it's all the better.
The drawing machine was unveiled last year in a hands-on gallery at the Fun Factory amusement center in Melbourne.
Amazing inventions
I'm frequently amazed by the many uses that people conceive out of the simple machinery of the bicycle — from “depulpers” for coffee growers to water pumps to smoothie blenders.
At left, a man has created a bicycle-based machine with six different uses — knife-sharpener, corn degrainer, grinder, blender, water pump and electric generator.
Although it's fun to come up with new roles for the basic bicycle, many of those uses perform valuable tasks for people living in Third World countries.
