As the end of the year rolls around, it's time to consider your options for replacing that 2009 calendar or else you'll end up with a big ol' bare spot on the wall.
Here are a few bike-theme calendars that I've run across that are either inspirational, scenic, or downright erotic.
Let's start with CyclePassion, the calendar produced annually in Germany that features many of Europe's top women cyclists striking some admittedly sexy poses. Bike equipment is used as props in the photos. Many women are garbed in recycled bicycle equipment this year; just think of bicycle innertubes as a fashion statement.
That's Anna Sanchez, the under-23 National Road Champion from Spain, pictured above. Also featured this year are Sabine Spitz, cross-country Olympic Gold Medal 2008, Germany; Lene Byberg, cross country mountain biking, Norway; Julie Krasniak, World Cup cross country, France; Nikki Harris, National Road Champion, UK; Monia Braccaille, National Road Champion, Italy; Steffi Marth, National Champion 4-Cross, Germany; Solveig Lindren, Sweden.

Another neat wall calendar is the 2010 International Bicycle Fund calendar, left, that features photos of bicycles used as transportation around the world.
The 2010 edition — also reuseable in 2021 — shows scenes from Nicaragua, Uganda, Sydney, London and Budapest and raises money for the non-profit.
The Rails-to-Trails Conservancy also is offering a 2010 wall calendar that features photos from the nation's many scenic trails being used by joggers, hikers and bicyclists.
A 2010 RTC calendar can be reserved by making a donation to the non-profit.
The International Mountain Bicycling Association also is offering a free inspirational calendar when you make a $35 or more contribution to the IMBA Fund.
Other popular wall calendars are available at Amazon, below.
One is Graham Watson's 2010 Cycling Calendar, which features 40 photos from European races. Beginning with the 1977 Tour de France, Watson has been shooting the Grand Tours and Springs Classics in Europe ever since. You can also find his work from the Tour of California.
Another interesting calendar I found on Amazon is the 18-month Cycling Through History Wall Calendar, which features posters from bike races over the decades.
Shoot me an email if your club or group is selling a calendar this year and I'll include it.
