Bike culture documentary “Veer” screening in Seattle

If you're a bicycle enthusiast in Seattle and want to see how the other half lives down in Portland, you can check out the documentary Veer this Thursday at Columbia City Cinema.

The film by Gregory Fredette and Jason Turner looks at the bicycling culture of Portland [see trailer at left].

It stars the Sprockettes, earnest bicycle advocates and dozens of cyclists who use the streets of Portland to get around by bicycle.

The documentary has been accepted for viewing at several film festivals and won for Best Documentary at the Calgary Underground Film Festival.

At the Columbia City Cinema [location] on Thursday, showtimes are 6:30 and 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. The documentary's director also will be available for questions.

Out since earlier this spring, other viewings of Veer are scheduled across the country. Check screening dates for more information about upcoming shows in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Fort Collins (Colorado), Worcester (Massachusetts) and Kansas City (Missouri).
