Live like Lance Armstrong: Texas ranch on market for $12 million

Lance Armstrong has put his 447-acre ranch in Dripping Springs on the market, complete with the 4-bedroom, 4 bath home and shared access to Deadman's Hole natural swimming pond.

This isn't the Armstrong estate in Austin that made news over the summer for being the top residential water consumer in the city by a factor of four (since greatly reduced).

This is the ranch about 25 miles from Austin where Armstrong got into trouble with his neighbors for dirtying up the shared swimming hole. Apparently some dams he built on his property diverted some sediment into the pond, which he cleaned up to the tune of $850,000.

Ranch

The property features a 2-story home and a 1 bedroom, 1 bath guesthouse that brings the total living space to 4,241 square feet. It features expansive views of the Hill Country and abuts the Pedernales River, the same river than cuts through the LBJ Ranch, for about a quarter-mile.

It also has the usual stuff you'd expect, like big fireplaces, hot tubs, and heated pool. The ranch has 7 miles of hiking/biking trails.

Family

I'm not going to draw any connections between the sale of the house and the reports that Armstrong's girlfriend, Anna Hansen, is in a family way. The house was built in 2003 and put on the market in October 2008, about two months before the Armstrong-Hansen announcement.

James Raia at Cycling Examiner reports that Armstrong recently said he's building a new home where he and Hansen can raise their child. More info at Real Estalker.com. Here's the real estate listing for the property.
