Remember those real estate agents who took prospects on housing tours by bicycle?
The developers of a swank new housing development in Manhattan (211 Elizabeth) are going them one better by supplying bicycles to purchasers of their one- and two-bedroom condominiums.
The bicycle is made by A Black Bike, a Dutch bicycle company based in New York City. They look like the stylish workhorses I've seen in photos from Amsterdam.
The steel-framed bikes come with leather saddle, fenders and mudguards, chain guards, pedestal stand, battery-powered lamps (racks sold separately).
They run about $1,000 in men's (shown above) and women's styles.
The developers of Manhattan's 211 Elizabeth in Little Italy are offering A Black Bike to anyone who buys one of their condos, which runs from $3.9 million for a two-bedroom to $1.5 million for a one-bedroom.
I could say they're giving away the bikes, but it would be easy to hide their cost in the price of the condo.
The developers, Robert Siegel and Peter Manning, partnered with A Black Bike to call attention to the old European architecture of the building, which contains a room for bicycle parking.
