Remember that old Saturday Night Live joke?
“I'm from New Jersey.” “Oh yeah? What exit?”
That retort could be rewritten to “What bicycle route?” as the New Jersey Department of Transportation has published three more bicycle route guides to make an even dozen that are available online for cyclists.
The three are Burlington County Bikeways, Cape May Shoreline Ride and Cumberland Salem Revolution bicycling guides. Combined, they offer 168 miles of bicycling through New Jersey.
Like all the others, the guides include detailed maps, descriptions of historical and natural highlights along the route, as well as location keys for parking, camping, bike shops, restaurants, stores and other necessities.
The full complement of New Jersey bicycling route guides are available online, including the 238-mile High Point to Cape May bike route. They all in .pdf format. Now I see how New Jersey landed among the top 10 states for bicycling by the League of American Bicyclists.
