Update: See Dominguez wins Stage 1
It appears that the scheduled 10:30 a.m. (ET) start time for Stage 1 of the 2008 Tour de Georgia is slightly exaggerated. Based on Adobe Tour Tracker, the race started at 10:50 a.m.
The Adobe Tour Tracker fired up at 10:39 with its first live post from VeloNews. Live video streaming on the media player at WCSN.com (follow the “watch now” link on the WCSN Tour de Georgia broadcast schedule page) is available. CyclingNews also offering live play-by-play.
WCSN is offering decent video from the peloton with seamless audio commentary.
Monday's stage is a 70-mile route from Tybee Island, through Savannah to Fort Argyle Road, and back to finish line downtown. The finish expected between 1 and 1:45 p.m. (ET).
Here's a detailed course map of Stage 1. Check the right sidebar for maps of other stages.
The Tour de Georgia blog offers a preview, suggesting a field sprint at the finish line in Savannah favors Juan José Haedo of Team CSC, Freddie Rodriguez of Rock Racing, and Ivan Dominguez of Toyota-United.
