The 2007 Bicycle Film Festival is currently making its way down the road on its worldwide tour. The next stop is Toronto, running Wednesday through Sunday.
This is the seventh annual tour for the film festival, which features independent films glorifying the world of bicycling. Other North American stops are Portland, Minneapolis and San Francisco before it heads overseas.
One film should be of interest to Toronto residents: Monkey Warfare, a film about two ex-activists in Toronto whose lifestyle involves selling junk online and riding their bikes.
Among the dozens of other films being screened, there's Klunkerz, the Marin County roots of mountain biking, Ayamye*, sustainable solutions to problems in Ghana, and Bikecar, a movie about a snowboard trip made by a human-powered vehicle (damn, if the thing doesn't look like an SUV!).
The festival already has visited New York City, Chicago, Paris and Los Angeles. Upcoming cities in the tour are:
Toronto Aug. 22-26
Portland Sept. 6-9
Minneapolis Sept. 12-15
San Francisco Sept. 19-22
