You may have already scored your 2007 bicycle racing calendar published by cycling photographer Graham Watson, but there are some other cool bicycle calendars available for 2007.
One that quickly captured my attention is the CyclePassion calendar, featuring cyclists interacting with their bikes. Take for instance this picture for March (the calendar appears to be next to her right knee cap) of a cyclist washing down her Bianchi.
The CyclePassion calendar project was shot by photographer Daniel Geiger, himself a cyclist. Some of the pictures were shot on location; one features the “Devil” shouting at the Specialized “Angel.” Dates of major races are posted on the calendar.
I think this is a German production; check the website for ordering for the US.
The International Bicycle Fund has a much tamer calendar for 2007, entitled Cycle & Recycle. Being environmentally conscious, they point out the calendar can be saved for use in 2018 and 2029.
The 2007 edition features pictures from the streets of Rotterdam, London and Cairo, to landscapes in Mongolia and Peru. The centerfold pays tribute to “Meals on Wheels” delivered by bicycle.
I found Graham Watson's 2007 Cycling Calendar under my Christmas tree. The 15X12-inch calendar features pictures from the 2006 bike racing season. My favorite is February, which shows the Ruta del Sol peloton crossing a bridge into the town of Montoro.
Watson's website also features a calendar by Dave Brinton, an illustrator for VeloNews.
The wallpaper calendars at the Felt Cruiser website haven't been updated for 2007, but most of 2006 is online in case you just want to reminisce. (Hey, Daniel Geiger shot the pictures for Felt, too.) It might be worth checking back at the first of the year.
Do you remember the Ditty Bops, that bicycle-touring girl band from LA? In 2006, Amanda Barrett and Abby DeWald posed in bikes and bikinis for their calendar. They veered away from that theme in the Ditty Bops 2007 calendar. Now they're doing vegetables and bikinis.
(Update: Beth reminds me — see comment below — that the Portland-based bicycle dance troupe Sprockettes is selling its 2007 calendar. More information at the Sprockettes website or Sprockettes blog. Also, see this recent article with sneak peeks from the calendar at BikePortland.org.)
(Update II: The Seattle-based Point 83 has published its 2007 bicycle calendar. You can buy it online for delivery by mail, pick up at a .83 event, or personal delivery by a calendar girl within 10 miles of Seattle. via BikeSeattle.org.)
