Cervelo Cycles has announced the recall of about 650 R2.5 model carbon fiber bicycles and bicycle frames because the frames can loosen or separate.
Distributed by Cervelo Cycles of Toronto, Canada, the frames were made in Taiwan and include only frames made in 2005 and carrying serial numbers higher than R251700. The bikes come with red, above, or blue highlights.
The bikes and frames were sold by authorized Cervelo retailers nationwide from December 2004 through May 2005 for about $2,200 for the frame set and between $3,100 and $3,900 for the complete bicycle, depending on the components selected.
