Interbike in the dirt

It's obvious that the press has swooped into Bootleg Canyon like so many vultures to ride the bikes and test accessories set out in the desert by 130 exhibitors at the two-day Outdoor Demo for Interbike.

Among the bloggers with passes to the show, the most prolific by far has been Graham at Go Clipless. The guy did write-ups on at least 7 mountain bikes the first day, many of them 29ers. Among them the Intense Spider 29 (below right), Turner Sultan, Niner R.I.P. 9, and Cannondale Caffeine 29er and Rush Carbon, Diamondback Mission 3, and Monocog Flight 29.

The hardest workin' blogger at Interbike even had time to locate his first two contestants for the Interbike booth babe contest, above.

Mike Davis at BikeMagic.com took a look at Niner, Norco, Cannondale, Surly and reported on improvements to the Maverick Speedball gas-lift telescopic seatpost.

CyclingNews covered the scene more than the bikes, although there are some pics of Cannondales and Knollys. Among the 130 vendors who set up, Cannondale blew them all away by bringing 200 bike to test.

VeloNews did an overview, but also reviewed the Mongoose Canaan, Felt Virtue, Santa Cruz's Virtual Pivot Point models, Intense Spider, Maverick, and Giant Anthem Advanced.

Singletrack magazine also has been out at the demo; from the pictures on the website the cyclists are doing their best to destroy some bikes. They rode, among others, the Santa Cruz Superlight and Specialized M5 Stumpjumper Expert.

The Outdoor Demo wraps up Tuesday; the show moves indoors at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas for Wednesday-Friday.

I have a Google feed of Interbike blogger filings and links to some websites covering Interbike at Feed Zone.
