Lance Armstrong has been named “The Greatest Natural Athlete of All Time.”
The 7-time Tour de France winner and multiple Sports Illustrated “Sportsman of the Year” received his latest accolade from a group who should really know — Arby's customers.
The fast-food munchers voted Armstrong ahead of 10 other natural athlete candidates, including Jim Thorpe and Muhammad Ali. Arby's chose to run the contest to help promote a new line of fast food — Arby's Chicken Naturals.
Meanwhile, Armstrong has received an honorary degree from Tufts University.
“For a guy who barely made it out of high school, I find it incredibly ironic that I am standing up here as a doctor. I would just ask that somebody send the photos to the principal at Plano East Senior High and let them know that I, in fact, graduated from Tufts and he has to call me Dr. Armstrong now.”
