Tour de Georgia bike race poll

The fourth annual Ford Tour de Georgia starts in Augusta today, and the first annual Tour de Georgia poll appears on my blog.

Who do you think will win the 2006 Tour de Georgia? I've listed some of the leading contenders. If you don't like any of them, you can leave a comment here with your choice.

Who are they?

Tom Danielson heads the list, first alphabetically and first in 2005. The Discovery Channel cyclist is looking for a repeat before he tackles the Giro d'Italia.

Floyd Landis of Phonak has won the Tour of California and Paris-Nice already this season. His next big race will be the Tour de France.

Nathan O'Neill is the Australian on the Health Net-Maxxis cycling team. He placed third in the first Tour of Georgia and won the Redlands Classic in March.

Jittery Joe's is leaning on Trent Wilson's experience in the Giro d'Italia to give them a shot at the title this year.

David Zabriskie, a time trial specialist with Team CSC, wore the yellow jersey for the first four days of the Tour de France in 2005. Maybe he can wear the leader's jersey to finish up the Tour de Georgia on Sunday.
