Cyclists Lance Armstrong and Filippo Simeoni withdrew their defamation suits against each other.

Simeoni filed the charges in his home country of Italy after a French newspaper quoted Armstrong about statements he made regarding Simeoni.

Armstrong had alleged in the Le Monde article that Simeoni had agreed to testify against doctor Michelle Ferrari in return for favorable treatment if he were ever accused of doping.

Ferrari — once an advisor to Armstrong — was convicted of sports fraud and malpractice.
