Joe Kurmaskie, the Metal Cowboy, will be in Seattle on Tuesday to talk about his latest cross-country cycling adventure with his two sons.

The author took to the road with his sons, ages 5 and 7, on a 14-foot-long rig that crossed 17 states from Portland to Washington DC last summer.

He faced not only challenges of how to keep to squirmy boys amused for about nine weeks, but also the physical demands to propelling himself, his sons, and their gears over mountain passes.

Kurmaskie is appearing as part of the Cascade Bicycle Club presentation series. The talk — entitled “An Evening with the Metal Cowboy; Momentum is Your Friend” — is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday at REI-Seattle, 222 York Avenue North, Seattle. The cost is $5, or 2 foir $5 for Cascade members.
