This is a good deal. A Chicago math teacher won a new bicycle from the Adventure Cycling Association in a random drawing for members, then she got to choose a free guided bike trip on which to take her new bike.
Rebecca Jackson, who despite being a member for 10 years has never taken a bike tour, chose the 7-day Cycle Montana supported bike ride through that state's mountain valleys.
She'll probably be riding her new Independent Fabrication Independence touring bike, described as a rugged, expedition worthy bicycle made of heavy duty tubing and lots of options for racks and fender mountings. Independent Fabrication is based in Somerville, Massachusetts.
Adventure Cycling, which got its start as Bikecentennial, sponsors 34 guided tours this year. More information at the website. By the way, check here for another Adventure Cycling bike giveaway.
