Four jerseys. Four Americans. Although the Amgen Tour of California bike race comprises an international field of cyclists, riders from the US are in all the top positions.
Here's how the jersey competition stacks up after Stage 6, an 89-mile race from Santa Barbara to Thousand Oaks that was won by T-Mobile's Olaf Pollack.
General classification jersey: Floyd Landis, left, has held the overall lead by 29 seconds ever since Wednesday's individual time trial. The Swiss Phonak team he leads has pulled back any breakaways by challengers. He seems likely to win it.
King of the Mountain jersey: Levi Leipheimer of the Gerolsteiner team clawed his way into the KOM on a steep category 1 climb near Santa Barbara on Friday. Leipheimer, who won the prologue and wore the golden jersey for two days, sits in sixth place overall. The KOM jersey is his to keep, as there are no climbs the final day.
Sprint jersey: George Hincapie of the Discovery Channel team leads the sprint competition, primarily due to winning stages on Tuesday and Friday. Known as a sprinting specialist early in his career, Hincapie has said he still practices his sprints a couple of times a week. Pollack, winner of Saturday's stage, and Juan Jose Haedo, the Argentine cyclist on the Toyota US Pro team, follow him in the competition.
Best young rider jersey: Thomas Peterson on Team TIAA-CREF. He just turned pro this year and sits about 40th overall.
