(Updated June 13, 2006 — Where to watch the Tour de France)

I suffered a lot of fear and loathing in the past few months over whether I'd see cycling on OLN ever again after Lance Armstrong's retirement.

Fear not. OLN announced its upcoming bicycle racing programming and there's not only the Tour de France, but a series of spring races beginning March 5 with Paris-Nice.

Much like last year's Cyclysm Sundays, the racing updates are scheduled every Sunday through the end of the Giro d'Italia on May 28.

OLN also announced it will once again offer viewers the option to watch the streaming, live world feed of Monday through Saturday stage of the Giro d'Italia on its website, OLNTV.com. It will announce details later.

Also returning are commentators Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen, and Bob Roll. When Bobke spoke at last year's Seattle Bike Expo (it's coming up again this weekend), he quipped that he was glad Armstrong didn't retire in 2005, because that ensured him a job for another year. I guess he can find work without Armstrong biking in the Tour.

Here's the schedule:

March 5 & 12  – Paris-Nice (France) – 5 p.m. ET
March 19 – Milan San Remo/Tirreno-Adriatico (Italy) – 5 p.m. ET
March 26 – Criterium International (France) – 5 p.m. ET
April 9 – Paris-Roubaix (France) – 5 6 p.m. ET
April 23  – Liege-Bastogne-Liege/La Fleche Wallone (Belgium) – 5 p.m. ET
May 7 & 14 – Giro D’Italia (Italy) – 5 p.m. ET
May 21 & 28 – Giro D’Italia (Italy) – 4 p.m. ET
July 1 – 23 – Tour De France – 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. (ET) daily (check OLN Tour de France schedule for details)

OLN said it also would offer coverage of the National Championship Series.

See the OLNTV site for the full press release.
