Cynthia Watros, one of the stars of ABC's “Lost” TV series, has lost her driver's license after she pleaded guilty on Thursday to drunken driving.

The Honolulu Star Bulletin reports that Watros and co-star Michelle Rodriguez were arrested in separate vehicles about midnight Dec. 1 when their cars began to “weave all over the right lane and into the bicycle lane.”

Watros, driving a Lexus SUV, tested for 0.1 percent blood-alcohol level; Rodriguez tested at 0.145 percent. The state legal limit is .08 percent, according to the Star Bulletin.

Watros's driver's license has been suspended for 90 days and will pay $312 in fines to the Kaneohe District Court in Kailua, the Star Bulletin reports. Judge James Dannenberg told her: “This is no fun, but you know how much worse it could have been. … Get on with your life, and I wish you luck.”

Rodriguez's case comes up March 30.

What makes this relevant to this blog? Here's a link to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration report on bicyclists fatalities in 2004. Hawaii was the 3rd deadliest state for bicyclists in traffic accidents that year. Nationwide, alcohol played a part in 28 percent of cyclists deaths.
