Lance Armstrong has been voted the top sports personality for the year in Spain.
The honor was bestowed upon the 7-time Tour winner by the Spanish daily newspaper El Pais, according to Reuters.
A couple of years ago, Armstrong was named Sports Illustrated's sports figure of the year.
I'm not sure how the voting came down, but the Spanish had a homegrown contender, Roberto Heras, until a doping scandal brought him down. Heras won Spain's own three-week cycling classic, the Vuelta a Espana, for the fourth time this year, setting a record.
