Giro d'Italia bicycle race without the commentary?

You may have already prepared yourself to watch this year's Giro d'Italia without Italian supersprinter legend Mario Cippolini, who retired last week.

Now, can you watch it without Phil Liggett, Paul Sherwen and Bob Roll? Because it you can, then OLN is offering you weekday live feeds of the 21-stage race over the Internet.

The Outdoor Life Network, which has been the only place to catch bicycle racing on TV in recent years, has cut back its daily morning coverage of big Euro stage races like the Giro and the Vuelta d'Espana to its Cyclysm Sundays broadcasts. However, the network announced it is making its Monday – Friday live feed from the Giro d'Italia — May 7-29 — available over its OLNTV website for $5.95.

The webcast, available live or archived, will feature the Italian on-screen leader boards, time gaps, and other race graphics. No commercials, no Liggett, Sherwen, or Roll. They'll put their spin on the race from 5 -7 p.m. (ET) on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning May 7, on the expanded Cyclysm Sundays schedule.

You can sign up for the webcasts at the OLN website, although the sign-up page was ready when I last checked early today (Wednesday). Also, you can download OLNTV's Giro d'Italia press release.

Now, does anyone know the Italian translation for “chase group”?
