“I'm not supposed to endorse products, but it's called a Trek.”
President Bush's response to a question (was it a set-up?) when asked what kind of mountain bike he rode
Wisconsin State Journal, 4/21/05
Who else rides a Trek? Well, Lance Armstrong for one. Trek is making available a replica of the Trek Madrone that Lance rode into Paris in the 2004 Tour de France.
Although the Trek Bicycle Corp. is based in Waterloo, Wisconsin, the company only makes its high-end bicycles in the US. Former Trek executive Mary Burke has said that 80% of Trek bikes are made abroad. I wonder where the bikes that Bush and the Secret Service ride were made?
