I have to get used to these late finishes. Out here in the Pacific time zone, most of the Euro races are over by the time I've had my second cup of coffee in the morning. This one wraps up about the time rush hour begins.
The winners today: Robbie Hunter (Phonak), Ben Brooks (Jelly Belly), Michele Maccanti and Daniele Napolitano (LPR) and Greg Henderson (Health Net).
Not an American in the five, which is fine — it's an international race. The Tour de Georgia website lists the teams (several might be new to you, they were new to me) and personnel.
Lance Armstrong, riding his last professional race on US soil considering yesterday's announcement, was sitting comfortably near the front of the peloton, right where his team always puts him. Lance won the Tour de Georgia last year and is looking to repeat this year.
