Lance Armstrong live on OLN Monday

What is Lance Armstrong's big announcement at Monday's press conference preceding the Tour de Georgia? If you can get to a TV with cable that carries the Outdoor Life Network, you can find out immediately.

OLN is covering the announcement live at about 2:30 p.m. (ET). Unfortunately, due to scheduling and bicycling's place in the pecking order against hunting and fishing, the Tour de Georgia itself won't be broadcast shown for almost two weeks, May 1.

If you can't get to a TV, check here, or any of the other cycling or news web sites on the Internet. The future plans of cancer-survivor, six-time Tour de France winner, Sports Illustrated Sportsman of the Year, Sheryl Crow boyfriend Lance Armstrong is bigger news than the races in which he rides.

The New York Times' Sam Abt writes about the “sheer sauciness” of Armstrong setting up the press conference and asks riders and commentators what they think. Among their answers: It's his last Tour de France; he's retiring from racing altogether, he's making his first entrance in the Giro d' Italia, he's marrying Sheryl Crow.

I think the best is from Discovery Channel Pro Racing team mate George Hincapie, who says Armstrong is announcing his run for the governor of Texas. I've lived in Texas. If he stops wearing them funny shorts, he could win.

By the way, here's the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling team lineup for Tour de Georgia, which starts Tuesday in Augusta:

Lance Armstrong
Joseacute; Azevedo
Michael Barry
Antonio Cruz
Tom Danielson
Viatcheslav Ekimov
Jason McCartney
Joseacute; Luis Rubiera
