This is the staff recommendation for the West Lake Sammamish Parkway improvements. Northbound and southbound bicyclists and pedestrians would all use the 8 to 10-foot multi-use trail on the west side of the road. (Imagine two cyclists — not shown — arriving from the north and south at the point where the two pedestrians are standing.) The 4-foot paved shoulder on the east side would not be marked as a bike lane and may contain stormwater drainage and other obstructions.
