The Sun-News of Northland recently has carried a story and an editorial regarding Lawson, Missouri's “no bicycling” case against a man suffering from multiple sclerosis.
A January 13 article gives some background on the city's firing of its town attorney who refused to prosecute the case, and the bicycling ban's violator, who needs to ride to keep his MS-stricken muscles supple.
Today's follow-up editorial reports that Lawson has won the court case and a $75 fine, but also earned a reputation for treating people unfairly. I think that's a fair assessment.
